The important role engagement can play in this development has rarely been
studied. The aim of this study was to examine whether the perceived HR
practices, described in this study, with a focus on older workers were related
to the intention to continue to work and whether this relation was mediated
by engagement. This study was carried out in collaboration with MCG
(Morgan Consultants Pakistan). A questionnaire was completed by 296 older
employees (50+) working in three organizations (all three members of MCG). The questionnaire was designed for gathering data of perceived HR practices,
the intention to continue to work, engagement, satisfaction and commitment
on the individual level. Multiple hierarchical regression analysis was used to
test the hypotheses. Results indicated that a significant mediation effect of
engagement was found which fully explained the relation between perceived
HR practices and the intention to continue to work.

Total quality management has become a frequently used term in discussions
concerning quality.
The research methodologies of the thesis will include a combination of a
theoretical analysis through a critical perspective to the total quality
management literature and an empirical study of the human resource
management’s role in an implementation of total quality management. The
research can be divided into two over aching phases: The first phase, the
critical investigation of the literature and a second phase. The first phase of
the thesis serves as an investigation of the literature of total quality
management and as preparatory for the study in the second phase. The second
phase serves as an empirical study of the strategic human resource role in the
implementation of total quality management
